How to become an artist ....And have great success. Here are six easy steps to becoming a successful artist today: 1. Find a renowned school to study at (you will need this to meet all the right contacts) 2. Read art magazines to find out what sort of art is "in". There are four or five choices here. (Important not to alienate yourself by doing something completely different.)And be careful to make your own variation on the established theme. If you copy a famous artist in your own country people will think you're a sap. Though you can safely copy someone from another country. 3. Be sure to develop the intellect. If you are able to discuss your art in an over complicated fashion no one will dare to challenge you, for fear of seeming stupid. Now you are well on your way. 4. Find your groupies, people who share your belief in art. No matter which group you chose in STEP 2, there will always be some art critic or museum director you can suck up to. Just don't make it too obvious. 5. Work obsessively. You must remember that you are competing with other artists in your field. 6. Once you have a fair amount of fame or power, do your best to discredit all other forms of art. After all, there is not enough  fame and fortune to go round.
